Deciding between the standard Sentry Window Decal and the oversized Cybertruck version? This guide compares fit, visibility, and deterrence to help you choose the right set for your Tesla.
Quick Answer
For most Tesla models, the standard Sentry Window Decal (pair) offers a discreet, weatherproof alert. For Cybertruck owners, the oversized Sentry Decal is the better deterrent due to its larger size and specific glass-area fit.
Why Size and Placement Matter
The key difference between these two decals is their intended fit. The standard Sentry Window Decal is a compact 4.56" x 1.89" sticker designed to be visible on the side windows of Model 3, Y, S, and X. The Cybertruck-specific Sentry Decal is oversized to fit the glass area behind the mirrors, ensuring it's clearly visible to passersby without blocking your view. This size difference directly impacts deterrence: a larger decal is harder to ignore, especially on the Cybertruck's expansive glass panels.
Deterrence vs. Discretion
Both decals serve the same purpose—letting people know they're being recorded—but they do so at different levels of visibility. The standard decal is subtle and fits well on smaller windows, making it a good choice if you prefer a low-key alert. The Cybertruck decal is intentionally large and "spicy," as the product description notes, to address the increased attention these trucks get. If you want maximum deterrence, the larger decal is the better option.
Decision Rules for Your Tesla
- Choose the Standard Decal If: You drive a Model 3, Y, S, or X and want a subtle, weatherproof alert that fits on your side windows without being overly prominent. The standard decal is also a more budget-friendly option at a lower price point.
- Choose the Cybertruck Decal If: You own a Cybertruck and need a larger, more visible decal that fits the specific glass area behind the mirrors, providing a stronger visual deterrent. The oversized design directly addresses the unique security concerns of Cybertruck owners.
- Consider the Design: The standard decal offers two design options: one with a camera icon and another with a "smile for the camera" message. The Cybertruck decal focuses on a single, oversized design. If personalization matters, the standard decal gives you a choice; if pure deterrence is the goal, the Cybertruck decal is the one.
Product Facts
