Does the silicone bumper and charging pad set fit your Model 3 or Y? We answer fitment, grip, and compatibility questions, including the 2026 16-inch screen exception.
Quick answer
Yes, the Silicone Bumpers and Charging Pad set fits most Tesla Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, but it is not compatible with the new 16-inch screen that started appearing in premium Model Y trims in early 2026. Check your screen size before ordering.
Why the 16-inch screen changes fitment
Tesla introduced a 16-inch center screen on some premium Model Y trims in early 2026. The silicone bumper in this set is shaped for the earlier screen, so it will not sit correctly on the larger display. If your Model Y has the 16-inch screen, skip this set and look for a screen-specific accessory instead.
What the set actually protects (and what it doesn't)
The set includes a center screen bumper, a mirror bumper, and a protective charging tray. Each piece adds a layer of silicone protection against minor knocks and scratches, but the main benefit for many buyers is the color accent. The white options are especially popular for brightening the interior of a Model 3 or Y. This is not a heavy-duty case, so don't expect it to absorb major impacts.
Charging pad grip: what to expect
The protective charging tray is designed to add grip and keep your phone from sliding on the Tesla charging pad. It is made of silicone, which provides a soft, high-friction surface. However, grip can vary depending on your phone case material and the angle of the pad. If you use a bulky or slick case, you may still need to adjust your phone's position.
Frequently asked questions
- Will this fit my 2024 Model 3?
- Yes, the set is designed for Model 3 and Model Y vehicles with the standard center screen. It does not fit the 16-inch screen found on some 2026 premium Model Y trims. If you drive a 2024 Model 3, you are in the clear.
- Does the charging pad improve grip?
- The silicone tray adds friction to help keep your phone in place, but grip depends on your phone case. Smooth or heavy cases may still slide. Test with your own phone and case before relying on it for track days.
- Can I use the bumper with a screen protector?
- Yes, the bumper fits around the edge of the screen and does not interfere with a screen protector applied to the glass. Just ensure the protector is fully adhered before installing the bumper. Install your screen protector first, then the bumper.
- What colors are available?
- The set comes in multiple colors, including white, which is popular for matching the Model 3 and Y interior. Color options may vary by stock. Check current color availability before ordering.
- Is the mirror bumper necessary?
- The mirror bumper is included for extra protection against accidental hits, but it is optional. Some drivers prefer the clean look without it. You can leave it off if you prefer a minimalist interior.
